Chiapas, Wednesday, August 24

We spent the day south of Palenque at a gorgeous waterfall – Misol Ha – and at Agua Azul, a series of cascades.  We lucked out: there haven’t been any heavy rains in the area for the last few days.  The water was free of mud.

At Agua Azul (otherwise known as Eden) the water was a gorgeous shade of blue. Another stroke of luck was that the temperature stayed in the low 80’s; the humidity wasn’t as high as it was for the last few days in Palenque.

We camped – boondocked – at Agua Azul.
