We spent most of the day driving. First stop was in Morro Bay to check out the heron rookery. Saw a few herons but plenty of Double-crested Cormorants. Then stopped off in tiny Los Alamos to see an exhibit of photographs done by a friend of ours. The gallery manager never showed up. Oh well.
When it came time to find a campground in the Malibu area we struck out at the state facilities. Wound up at the privately owned, and expensive, Malibu Beach RV Park. We have an ocean view from our “bedroom” so why complain?
We should reach the border – we’re crossing at Tecate – tomorrow.
